The company

A story that began over 70 years ago

It all began in 1946, when a major Italian industrial group in the aeronautical sector selected its own workforce and technicians to externally launch the first productions of O-Rings and special seals needed for the manufacture of their equipment.

The new manufacturing operation then naturally expanded to serve the entire Italian Aeronautical and Aerospace sector, quickly gaining prominent positions with all the major industry manufacturers. As a logical progression, it soon acquired significant market shares in every other industrial sector as well.

Industrial seals

Initially, GEROL-O-RING S.d.f., standing for Elastomeric Seals Resistant to Lubricating Oils, which still evokes the charm of that pioneering atmosphere, became simply GEROL S.r.l. towards the end of the 1970s, signifying the expansion of interests far broader and more diversified than the original mandate.

Between the late 1980s and early 1990s, the company strengthened its evolution towards foreign markets, especially outside Europe, with a gradual commercial inclusion of the most important brands in the industrial seals sector for standard products that had become excellently consolidated. At the same time, our most important and specialised products were allocated to carefully selected subcontractors, while ensuring exclusive ownership of the moulds and safeguarding the ownership and specific technical requirements demanded by our clients.

Since 1993, GEROL S.r.l. has been structured more as a commercial company, leveraging its unmatched technical expertise and a complete, constantly updated product portfolio capable of meeting any application requirement across all industrial sectors.

The ideal mix between original equipment manufacturing and distribution is continually optimised to reflect the state of the Italian industry: whereas supplies to manufacturers once predominated over spare parts distribution, we are now approaching an inversion, with increasingly widespread support being offered to the entire distribution network, from small to large retailers.

We like to say that we live and breathe seals, only seals, but all kinds, including those that never existed or are impossible to find. We can even provide special custom designs.
